Biography:  My name is Angela Lengefeld and I am excited about starting my first year as a School Counselor at South Waco Elementary.  I began my teaching career in Waco I. S. D. as a third grade teacher at Sul Ross Elementary and then moved to Abilene, Texas.  During my five years at Abilene I. S. D., I taught fourth and fifth grades as well as served as a Reading Specialist.  An opportunity arose for me to expand my knowledge of the Texas and Federal education processes, so I moved to Austin, Texas, and worked for the Texas Education Agency as a State and Federal Grants Administrator for four and a half years.  Missing the public schools, I accepted a position as the Reading First Grant Administrator and Reading Specialist for Three Way I. S. D., where I served for three years.  The past fifteen years, I served with The University of Texas - University Charter School System.  The first two years, I was the Assistant State and Federal Program Coordinator.  The past thirteen years, I worked as an Academic Transition Coordinator for 8th-12th graders.

My undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a Reading Specialization is from Baylor University.  I earned my Master Reading Teacher Certification from Texas A & M.  Additionally, my Master’s in School Counseling Degree is from Lamar University.

I love spending time with my family and friends.  I am a proud aunt of 1 nephew and 5 nieces.  They are the loves of my life!  Much of my time is spent following all of their sporting and extra-curricular activities.  One other tidbit about me is that I absolutely LOVE to travel.  I’ve visited forty-nine states and multiple countries.  My goal is to visit all fifty states by the end of 2022!  Watch out, Alaska, here I come!

My Why:  It is my goal to be an authentic bright spot for all.  Through laughter and love, it is my hope that the students and staff feel supported and nurtured always.  Everyone deserves to belong and feel special.  It is my life’s mission for each individual to know that they are important and that they matter to me!
