I graduated from Southwest Texas State in San Marcos in 1991 with a BA in Business. Before entering the education field, I was a stay-at-home mom for 13 years and worked in the Financial Planning department for USAA. I moved to Waco in 2009 and fulfilled my lifelong dream of becoming an educator by obtaining my Alternative Teacher Certification at Mclennan Community College in 2011 and began teaching at Lake Air Intermediate. My entire teaching career has been with Waco ISD and ten of my years have been at Tennyson Middle School. I was a 6th grade Science teacher for five years, an Instructional Specialist for 4 years, The Dean of ATLAS for 3 years and I am now an Assistant Principal for Tennyson. I have three children, two of whom graduated from Waco High and one who is currently in the eighth grade here at Tennyson.
