  • Waco High School  holds a vision that fosters an academically diverse and rigorous curriculum within a safe and exciting environment. Our goal is to develop the Graduates of Waco High School into the leaders of today and tomorrow.  Our plan is to build strong relationships between our school, parents & community. With this strong bond we can develop strong and meaningful parental engagement. Our faculty and staff work with students take a proactive approach engaging our students to be successful.  With the assistance from our parents/guardians, we expect our students to take on the  responsibility for coming to school each day to learn and grow as learners.

Waco High School makes academic improvements each year, striving for the goal of exemplary status. The school’s Advanced Placement (AP) Program and dual-credit courses, (taught by Waco High teachers through McLennan Community College and Texas State Technical College) are great avenues to obtain college credit. WHS also offers opportunities to explore other post-secondary careers through many Career and Technology pathways as well as our new Greater Waco Advanced Manufacturing Academy. These programs include Media and Communication Technology, Architecture and Design, Business, Marketing and Finance, Education, Health Science, Forensic Science, Welding, Electronics and Robotics.  In addition, preparation for the SAT is offered online as well as a part of the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program through Princeton Review.  Students at Waco High are leaders with programs such as National Honor Society, JROTC, Safe School Ambassadors, Peer Mediation, LEAD (Leadership, Education, & Development) program and Student Council.  Waco High School also has a devoted Communities-In-Schools program that helps enrich and educate our parents and students.

Waco High School has a working CDMC, Adopt-A-School partnership and PTSA.  We utilize our Waco High Webpage, PTSA Facebook, Waco ISD School Message Board and School Messenger to communicate parent information, notices, dates and events that will take place on campus.

Everyone has an opportunity to succeed at Waco High, where the student body and staff are a reflection of the City of Waco.
