Biography: My name is Benaya Lopez and I am in my second year as a 6th grade science teacher. This is my second year in education and my second year at Cesar Chavez. I grew up in Waco, Texas and graduated from Tarleton State University in 2019 with my Bachelors in Psychology. I have been married for 8 years and have a two and a half year old daughter named Ryleigh. I love to spend time with my family and I also love fishing.

My Why: I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to be successful in school. As an educator we must strive to give students the tools necessary to SUCCEED. That is the reason that I show up everyday and continue to build relationships with my students so that they meet and exceed the expectations that others have about them. Education is not only the content that we teach, but also includes the skills we develop that help us be successful in life.
