Teacher Incentive Allotment
The Teacher Incentive Allotment has a stated goal of a highly competitive salary for teachers who prioritize teaching in high needs areas and rural district campuses. The program is dedicated to recruiting, supporting and retaining highly effective teachers in all schools, with particular emphasis on high need and rural schools. Districts, if they choose to, can develop a local designation system and designate high-performing teachers (Master, Exemplary or Recognized). Districts will receive additional funding ($3,000-$32,000 per year) for every
designated teacher they employ. The District has an approved TEA Cohort C TIA application and submits teachers for designation each fall. We are proud to report we successfully passed validation last fall resulting in 47 designated teachers in the spring of 2022.

Opportunity Culture
As part of the teacher preparation partnership with Texas Tech and Tarleton State University, Waco ISD will be participating in the Opportunity Culture initiative. We hope that the Opportunity Culture model will help retain our best teachers by offering them new opportunities to grow as educational leaders and better prepare the new teachers who will follow them in the classroom.
This innovative approach to staffing provides an opportunity for our most talented teachers to reach more students for more pay. Bringing Opportunity Culture to Waco ISD is a result of partnerships with Public Impact, US PREP, La Vega and Waco ISDs, Prosper Waco and financial support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The committee endeavors to be innovative, compassionate, and empowering in order to achieve increased wellness for all. Empowered by Human Resources & Student Services & Support, the committee launches projects that promote educator social emotional health. Approved projects fit into a layered framework that aims to provide both proactive and responsive support for educators.
